Mejia, et al. v. Walgreen Co., et al. (USDC Eastern District No. 2:19-cv00218-WBS-AC): On November 24, 2020 a $4.5 million settlement was reached in a class action matter involving employees of Walgreens Co. Plaintiffs alleged that their hours were rounded down, that they were unpaid for overtime hours worked and were not compensated for company-mandated security checks performed while off-the-clock. $2.83 million was distributed to 2,650 class members. Counsel for the class members received $1.5 million in attorney fees and $15,000 in cost. Defendant was represented by Bryan, Cave, Leighton & Paisner LLP.
