Parks v. County of Los Angeles, et al. (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. BC651145): On October 30, 2010 the County of Los Angeles entered into a $6,000,000 settlement with Plaintiff Cassandra Parks, regarding a fatal accident that occurred with her daughter, Elena Kramer in January of 2016. Kramer lost control on a curve while driving southbound on Bouquet, crossing over into opposing traffic, over a dirt shoulder and into a tree where she sustained fatal injuries. Plaintiff argued that the road was inherently dangerous, that there had been previous fatal accidents, and that a guardrail would have saved her daughter’s life. Defendant denied the allegations and argued that Kramer was contributorily negligent for speeding, and that she failed to exercise due car. Plaintiff was represented by Bentley & More LLP.
