Transportation Company Agrees to Terms of $2.5 Million Settlement in Class Action Wage and Hour Case
Jason Goldstone, et al. v. Professional Automotive Relocation Services Inc. (San Francisco Super Court No. CGC-22-603176): On August 25, 2023 defendant Professional Automotive Relocation Services Inc agreed to the terms of a $2.5 million settlement to resolve a class-action wage and hour case filed by lead plaintiff Jason Goldstone. Plaintiffs claimed that defendant misclassified employees as “independent contractors” and in doing so, failed to pay proper wages; failed to provide itemized wage statements; failed to provide meal and rest periods; failed to reimburse for business expenses and failed to pay employees upon termination. Defendants denied all contentions leading up to the full day of mediation when the matter was ultimately settled. Plaintiffs were represented by Schneider, Wallace, Cottrell & Konecky LLP.
