Catch PS If You Can

Poole Shaffery recently attended “Catch Us If You Can,” the 13th annual seminar for Themis Advocates Group (“Themis”), a national legal network of civil trial lawyers. Frank Abagnale, whose autobiography Catch Me If You Can was made into a movie staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, was the keynote speaker. In addition, one of the firm’s partners, Jaion Chung, moderated a panel on how certain U.S. Supreme Court decisions impact diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.

In June 2023, John Shaffery will be participating in Themis’ annual Mock Trial, that will be held for the first time in Richmond, Virginia. In addition, in May 2023, Poole Shaffery will be involved in the Women of Themis 2023 Leadership Forum in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition, Poole Shaffery recently co-hosted “Table Talk” - a pilot program presented by the Women’s Initiative Subcommittee of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the Trucking Industry Defense Association (“TIDA”). The event was held in Los Angeles, California and attended by leading professionals in the trucking industry as well as attorneys from throughout the country.

The pilot program was an undeniable success and allowed the attendees to not only solidify current relationships but forge new ones as well. As a long-time member of TIDA, Poole Shaffery was privileged to be one of the co-hosts for the inaugural event.

The above two organizations are just a couple of examples of organizations that Poole Shaffery is privileged to be a part of. The attorneys at the firm belong to a number of organizations across the spectrum, from local bar associations to foundations. Being active members of these various organizations is just one element of the firm’s service-oriented approach.
