Employment Law

Jalandhar Bidye v. Uma Enterprises, Inc. (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. BC717934): On June 27, 2022, verdict was awarded in favor of plaintiff Jalandhar Bidye, former transportation manager for furniture manufacturer UMA Enterprises, Inc. Plaintiff alleged that during his employment he complained about Indian employees being singled out for termination, and later complained about safety issues in two warehouses. Shortly after filing his second complaint, he was terminated by UMA. Plaintiff subsequently filed an action against UMA alleging retaliation and racial discrimination. Defendant denied liability, arguing that their HR department conducted a thorough investigation following plaintiff’s complaints, and that plaintiff was terminated due to performance issues. Plaintiff was represented by The Aarons Law Firm.
