Featured Settlement: Auto v Pedestrian
Munoz, et al. v. County of Los Angeles, et al. (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. BC723658): On Sept 17, 2020 a $17.5 million settlement was reached in a case where two pedestrian children were struck and killed Deputy Sheriff vehicle. Plaintiff, Maria Solis Munoz alleged that defendant Carrie Robles, a Deputy Sheriff, negligently operated her squad car while driving through an intersection wherein she struck another vehicle, and then careened onto a sidewalk striking and killing Munoz’ two sons, aged 7 and 9 years old. Defendants denied the contentions but agreed to the settlement terms in lieu of trial. Plaintiffs were represented by the Law Office of Marc I. Bloomenfeld.
